Water Project Painting
A few weeks ago a friend of mine was looking for artists to do 6×6 tiles, with their representations of the “essence of water”, for an local studio’s art show. The show will hopefully be made up of 500 or more artists works from all over the world, and all proceeds will go to benefit wildlife and water reclamation efforts in the Gulf Coast.
Since I have been slightly obsessed with whales lately I choose to paint one for the show. I feel that they are an apt representation, with their beauty, intelligence, diversity and history with man, of life in our oceans, it’s fragility and our ability to affect both positively and negatively. Below is “almost” the finale of the painting I did. It is called Lobtailing Novaeangliae. It is Water Coulor on 6″x6″ Tile.
